Finding Sales Reps

So maybe you have been following my previous blogs on doing your own sales and have decided that this is not your favorite thing, or just don't feel it's your best use of time considering your lack of expertise, or you just outright hate it.  Any which way you slice it, it has to be done if you want to make money….. so time to move on and find some reps.

Finding reps can be tricky. There is no main directory for reps out there – sadly. And if there was, I don't know if it would mean anything to you without seeing what they are all about, who they represent and if you click with them.  These links below can direct to you listings of reps in the different categories for apparel and gift. I would suggest you call them and see who is wiling to meet with you after they view your website and/or catalogs. Unless the person comes HIGHLY recommended by a friend (or colleague) then I suggest taking a trip to visit them.  You are most likely going to want to meet them face to face before you sign them on – I would highly recommend that.

  • Thanks Sarah. Where on the links would I find the list of reps?

  • Sarah Shaw says:

Most of the marts have lists under showrooms.

  • Debbie says:

Well, I tried the mart thing (Atlanta) with the only two rep companies. They both turned me down because they said I don’t have a niche? or they already represent a similar product? But when I checked these products, they are NOT similar because mine is 100% organic and theirs is NOT AND SKINaturals helps acne where the others do not. All these differences are very apparent on my web site and facebook pages. So what’s the real story?

      Debbie,

Sometimes reps don’t know that much about the lines they rep and need to be more informed. Try going back with a diff approach so they understand the difference.
