Anna Lecat has entrepreneurship in her blood

Anna LecatAnna Lecat grew up in the Ukraine in a family of entrepreneurs watching both her parents and older brother run their own successful companies. Their passion, risk-taking, and treatment of their employees and customers fueled Anna’s own entrepreneurial spirit.  

Join me and Anna Lecat as we explore how she built Les Lunes into a successful brand with four free standing stores and one recent pop up in Chicago as well as their very profitable online store.  Anna shares a few of her start up mishaps, her successes, and how important her trips to visit her factories can be.  Anna tells us how she visits her store fronts regularly and mingles with customers to hear their comments and feedback on current designs.  Conversing with her customers face to face has been her secret sauce for years.

ABOUT ANNA LECAT

Anna Lecat is a repeat fashion entrepreneur, CEO and Founder of the contemporary label Les Lunes, a vertically integrated fashion label based in San Francisco, Paris and Shanghai, known for its French aesthetics, and collections for men and women made from soft bamboo fabrics. Lecat lived and worked in China for 18 years, and is known in the global business arena for her commitment to changing the negative stigma that surrounds the phrase “Made In China.” She is revered as an expert in fashion retail, sustainability, and ethical manufacturing. In 2012, after seeing a need for flattering and comfortable apparel, Lecat founded Les Lunes, where she was able to continue the embodiment of forward-looking environmental and ethical practices that have impact on a global scale. With teams spread across three continents and collaborating daily, the Les Lunes ‘health and happiness first’ focus she champions in all arenas remains grounded in actively listening to customer needs and fulfilling them. Over the past two years, Lecat has scaled Les Lunes from online-only to include four brick-and-mortar locations throughout the Bay Area, and more recently a pop-up location in downtown Chicago. Fast Company, WWD, The Glossy Podcast, Huffington Post and more have profiled Lecat for her expertise in entrepreneurship, ecofashion, retail and sustainable manufacturing. Prior to Les Lunes, Lecat founded a brand management agency at the age of 21 while living in Shanghai, and in 2000 launched Streamline Alliance, which provides consumer and industrial companies with a range of global operations services, including Chinese vendor identification, factory audits, product design and development, and quality control. Anna currently lives with her husband and three children in San Francisco. Her passion for ethical manufacturing and the creation of excellent products are matched only by her love of tango and world travel. She speaks fluent Mandarin and feels at home on the streets of Shanghai, in the mountains of Northern California, and traversing the theater district in Paris. Her business priorities are (1) to always have fun and embrace each new challenge with joy for the opportunity to learn and grow, (2) treat co-workers and customers like family, and (3) to discover the voids in the world and fill them with beauty.
